Push up the web
We web designers all know that older browsers (ex: IE6) are a hassle to work with. We also know that a majority of the non-technical population doesn’t bother upgrading their browsers. This project, created by Nick Stakenburg attempts to help people notice that they have a very important browser upgrade available.
For a demo, try viewing this site in IE6 (or another outdated browser). See that little message that appears on the top right corner? That’s the project. It is subtle, yet noticeable in a “pleasant” way, don’t you agree?
I truly believe that this is a step in the right direction, as us web designers can’t be expected to be dealing with IE6 users in the next few years. The web has to move on, and so does its users. This project is helping to make that process as painless as possible.
Nice find John! I’ll install this on my server soon
